Covid-19 Help and Advice

Stay at home to stop coronavirus spreading - here is what you can and can't do. If you think you have the virus, don't go to the GP or hospital, stay indoors and get advice online. Only call NHS 111 if you cannot cope with your symptoms at home; your condition gets worse; or your symptoms do not get better after seven days.

 

Ivinghoe Lawn and Ivinghoe Aston Playground

Following the government guidelines which come into effect on Wednesday 13th May 2020.

People will be able to use The Lawn and Ivinghoe Aston Playground for

  • Picnics (only within their own household groups)
  • Sunbathing (only within their own household groups)
  • Playing of games, including basketball and table tennis (only within their own household groups)
  • Meeting one other person from outside of their household group, either for a chat or for exercising together.

 In all cases social distancing must be observed.

 People will NOT be able to

  • Use any playground equipment, e.g. swings, slides, roundabouts, springers, zip wire, etc.
  • Use any outside gym equipment, e.g. rower, stepper, etc.
  • Use any form of barbecue 

 

Please note, you may also find that some people from outside of the villages will be using the facilities.

 

You are free to enjoy both Ivinghoe Lawn and Ivinghoe Aston Playground, but please follow these simple guidelines. Stay Safe everyone.

Do You Require Support     or     Are You Willing To Volunteer

The Gateway in Aylesbury will be operating as the local support hub. The hub will be the coordination and distribution points for our volunteer networks – NOT  ‘drop in’ centres for the public.

We are still awaiting information from central Government about how this should operate but in the meantime would anyone in Ivinghoe and Ivinghoe Aston who would like to volunteer to deliver to the vulnerable in our community during this crisis get in touch with the Parish Council through our website.

Local Support Groups

Ivinghoe Parish Council is working in conjunction with Buckinghamshire Council's Hub in Aylesbury to provide support to the elderly and vulnarable

Anyone in Ivinghoe and Ivinghoe Aston who would like to volunteer to deliver to the vulnerable in our community during this crisis please get in touch .

  • Church Food Bank

Would you like to donate food?

St Mary's Church in Ivinghoe is open every day 8:30 until 5pm or you can leave donations in the porch. Any packets, tins or dry goods welcome especially longlife milk and tinned cooked meat or pies.

Do you know of anyone who is in need of foodor are you short of food yourselfor need someone to shop for you?

    Please visit and shop where possible. If you are isolating / shielding Mead’s can deliver and will be co-ordinating this with the local help groups. Home delivery currently not available to Ivinghoe, but might be worth enquiring. Contact via their website, Facebook or telephone 01442 828478.

    Open as usual. Any update in opening hours will be posted here
  • Windmill Pharmacy
    Are planning to remain open. They can deliver prescriptions to those that have already signed up to their delivery service. Normal opening hours with the following exception, now closed 12 - 2 at lunchtimes to allow extra time for the preparation of prescriptions.

  • Advice on elderly or potentially vulnerable residents and Coronavirus

In the case of potentially vulnerable residents, If they have not already received a letter from the government highlighting them as vulnerable, the link for people to register with the government as vulnerable and needing help is www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable and there is also a helpline on 0800 0288327.

 

Here is the list of who qualifies as extremely vulnerable: 

If you hear of any local people who are likely to qualify but haven’t received the letter, please do ask them to register above and raise this with their GPs or hospital clinicians (as per the government guidance above).

If residents have received the letter from the government advising they are one of the vulnerable members of society an should isolate for 12 weeks they will be getting a food parcel delivered in the next few days.

As we are having to comply with national guidelines on public health during this exceptionally difficult time, we appreciate that this may involve some inconvenience to residents but unfortunately we have no option but to put public health and safety first and foremost.
