Bowls

Top Class Bowls Facilities at Kempston Hammers

  • We have a large bowling green that accommodates six rinks with ease.

  • Our green is very well maintained by trained volunteers who have a wealth of experience in this area.

  • We have a number of sets of bowls which new members and guests are free to use initially.

  • There are secure, clean and tidy Men’s and Ladies changing facilities.

  • We have a patio area with seating and a number of benches around the green to watch matches in progress.

  • We have a superb pavilion with kitchen, tables, seating and toilet facilities

Kempston Hammers Bowls (outdoor) Club has very strong and successful Men's' and Ladies' sections, who are an active part of the main Sports and Social Club. We are a friendly club, with the ladies playing weekly friendly fixtures on a Thursday and Saturday, both at home and at other local clubs, and the men playing their friendlies an a Saturday. There is also a growing number of mixed fixtures played each year.

Our season takes place over the summer months, with the green opening at the end of April each year and closing at the beginning of October... unfortunately the sunshine is never guaranteed, but fun is always had at our place, come rain or shine!

A large number of our players also enter into competitive games at a club and county level, and we are proud to have past and present members who have represented the county at the national championships, and the country at international series'.

If you would like to come down and have a go, or if you have any questions, please contact Janet Hirst on 01234 825228. New members are always welcome!
