Kirton Parish Council celebrated the installation of new playground equipment on the Kirton playing field by holding a picnic in the park on 20 May 2018. Our local MP Mark Spencer kindly attended to perform the official opening of the facility

The facility includes children’s climbing house, swings and a fitness circuit. Something for all the family.

Over 50 villagers attended the event allowing the children and adults to enjoy the facilities and share the snacks and drinks generously supplied by the parish council and villagers.

The parish council chair Nicola Batty formally thanked Mark Spencer for agreeing to open the park, she also expressed thanks to all the organisations who contributed money to fund the playground project, these were:

The National Lottery £10000

Forterra Brickworks, Kirton £1000

Rotary Club of Sherwood Forest £200

Nicola also expressed thanks To FunFramze of Boughton Industrial Estate, for making such an excellent job of installing the equipment in what were often trying weather conditions.

We look forward to seeing the equipment being used by every body
