Unfortunately our objections to the the planning application were noted but ignored the Nottingham County Council Planning Committee and the planning application was approved. But, thanks in many ways to intense objections by residents and the parish councili a number of significant conditions are imposed to address. environmental and ecological concerns.

These include:

  • Adequate Drainage, and Impervious Surfacing before any waste importation or processing
  • Bat friendly flood lighting
  • Complete replacement of perimeter fence with noise attenuated fencing before any waste importation or processing
  • Limits on noise levels in the local area, to be monitored by appropriate equipment
  • Controls on acceptable materials, throughput and storage
  • Dust control systems to minimise dust emissions
  • Sealed areas for the storage of fuels or chemicals to protect surface and ground water quality.
  • Defined operating hours.
  • Controls on the number of HGVs accessing the site.
  • Controls on location and maintenance of plant and machinery.
  • All plant and vehicles to be fitted with white noise (broadband) reversing alarms.

These are only an outline of the conditions, details are available on the Notts County Council website.

All plans for implementation of these conditions shall be submitted by Jordan Road Surfacings to the Waste Planning Authority for appoval before work can commence. The construction and operation of the site will be subsequently monitored by the WPA.

The parish council will be communicating regularly with Jordan Road Surfacing Ltd and the WPA to ensure an overview on develoipment and operation and will press for mitigation of it's impact where we can.

If you have any concerns during construction or operation please don't hesitate to contact the parish council or the WPA direct.

Finally, I am sure you will join me in expressing a big thank you to all of the residents and councillors who worked so hard to put forward objections to this applications and also to those who gave their time yesterday by travelling to county hall to support their efforts.
