Cemetery Regulations
Under the Local Cemeteries Order (LACO) 1977, Laceby Village Council is responsible for regulating the Laceby Cemetery, and is required to set out regulations to provide a safe, dignified, and respectful environment, for everyone.
The Cemetery Regulations are there to protect against incorrect burials, unstable memorials from fall, structural damage to memorials, and environmental harm, whilst also ensuring that they are a peaceful place for remembrance.
The Cemetery Regulations also provides regulation and guidance about memorials and headstones being placed in the Cemetery. It is important to ensure public safety and preserve the historical and environmental heritage of the location, and ensure fair and consistent management for all users. The Regulations dictate the memorial size, placement, and inscription to create a safe, respectful, and aesthetically pleasing memorial space for everyone.
Families must comply with Cemetery Regulations to ensure the Cemetery remains a safe, orderly, and respectful place for anyone.
When arranging a burial or placing a memorial you are agreeing to the Cemetery Regulations.
Laceby Village Council reserve the right to remove any unauthorised items or plantings that contravene the regulations.
The following Regulations have been adopted by the Laceby Village Council.
