Founded in February 2016, Lawley and Overdale Local History Group is the latest history and reminiscence group in the Borough of Telford and Wrekin and is an affiliated member of Wrekin Local Studies Forum.

The group's principal aims is to research and promote local history of our Parish, its communities and people and to actively encourage not just Parishioners old and new but also welcome former Parishioners to come along and participate. We cover Lawley, Newdale, The Rock, Overdale, Old Park, Dawley Bank, Lawley Bank, Lawley Gate and Lawley Common. We aim not only to research as far back at the Doomsday Book but also cover more recent developments as part of an ongoing commitment to create a Parish Archive as well as do further research for the established Lawley and Overdale History Trail by Lawley and Overdale Parish Council.  We also organise activities such as local history walks and take part in events such as the annual Community History Day via the WSLF.
