Meetings

The Group holds "Get Togethers" at Lawley Community Centre, Arleston Lane; originally Lawley Board School erected in 1877. The facility has its own car park - toilets (including disabled) and kitchen. Access to the Centre is off Arleston Lane. The building was recently refurbished by the Parish Council. Our Get Togethers and current Activities for 2018 are as follows (* Admin meetings are separate from regular Get Together sessions):

  • Friday May 18th - "Heraldry and Ancient Weapons"  A talk and display with John Minshall. Admisison Free/ 50 seats limited. Lawley Community Centre   Start - 6.30pm (talk begins at 7.00pm) Reserve seat via lawleyoverdalelhg@gmail.com
  • Saturday 16th June - History on Foot/ Lawley and Newdale walk. 12.00 Noon. Start Point - Morrisons/ Lawley Square. Reserve a place by contacting lawleyoverdalelhg@gmail.com.

  • Friday July 20th - Get Together meeting for history share and reminiscences for History Day. Lawley Community Centre   Start - 6.30pm
  • Saturday 11th August - History on Foot/ Telford, Cadman and Cinderloo walk. 1.00pm. Start Point - Dawley Baptist Church, Bank Road, Dawley Bank. Reserve a place by contacting lawleyoverdalelhg@gmail.com.
  • Saturday 1st September - 2nd History Day - Lawley Community Centre  History Groups or individuals within local history wishing to have a display or folks that can volunteer to help, please contact lawleyoverdalelhg@gmail.com
  • Friday September 21st - Get Together meeting for history share and reminiscences. Lawley Community Centre   Start - 6.30pm
  • Saturday 10th November – 3rd Remembrance Walk to celebrate the 100th anniversary of WW1. Details TBC.
