Swanpool Footpath Upgrade opening event
Swanpool Path Upgrade Opening event Saturday 26th September 2015
On Saturday 26 September 2015 at 11.30 am, the community of Little Wenlock celebrated the completion of a project to improve the Swanpool Paths off Buildwas Lane.
The last few winters this well used and enjoyed path has been flooded, and with deep mud in places making it impassable. In January 2015, the opportunity arose for applying for funding to upgrade and put right the problems we have had. With support of the residents of Little Wenlock the Parish Council were able to obtain a grant from Veolia. Working with Pickstock Ltd we have been able to provide a welcome improved facility for the village.
An opening event was held at the entrance to the pathways in Buildwas Lane, with Lizzie Cochrane and “Jockey” Shepherd cutting the tape.
Many thanks are extended to Pickstock Ltd for ensuring the project plans are sustainable, and for arranging to carry out the associated work to a very high standard.
Little Wenlock Parish Council is grateful that Veolia Environmental Trust has provided funding that has enabled the project to be completed.
Our community now has a greatly improved facility that can be enjoyed by all throughout the whole of the year.
From the paths, the spectacular landscape can be seen across the Shropshire Hills together with the opportunity to observe close up the abundant natural wildlife.
