Volunteer Duty Coordinator
What's involved in being a volunteer duty coordinator?
Our duty coordinators provide the essential link between our clients and our volunteer drivers. Coordinators, who need access to email, are based at home and either use their own phone or the Group's mobile.
At any time we have one volunteer coordinator "on duty". The duty coordinator:
- picks up and deals with telephone messages left on the Group's answering service
- contacts volunteer drivers to match an available driver with a client's requirement
- liaises with clients about their booking
- liaises with drivers as necessary
Duty coordinators use a mix of telephone and general computer skills. Training is provided.
How do I get started?
To become a volunteer for Lymington Care Group you will need to provide references and have a satisfactory DBS check, but we help with this and the cost is covered. You will also need to familiarise yourself with our Safeguarding Policy.
