Thanks to our Milbourne correspondent.

On Saturday the Malmesbury A team took on the Malmesbury B in bright sunshine, with an attempt to gain revenge for their 4-6 defeat earlier in the year.

After nine ends (halfway) things were looking good for the B team, leading by 11 shots overall, in front on two rinks, and tieing on the third. By the end of the match, the A team showed the sort of form that had claimed the Cotswold League Second Division title, at the third time of asking.

The A team won by 24 shots overall for 9-1 in points. Congratulation to the A team for a comprehensive win.

  • Tim 22 - John 22
  • Roy 26 - Albert 9
  • Ruby 20 - Arthur 13

However, Malmesbury Bowls Club was the real winner as grass greens would have been closed by now. Events such as this one vindicate the decision to invest in the new artificial green.
