We are saddened to hear that Mike Trimble had passed away suddenly last week. As a member commented “one of the greats”. We propose to hold a Boxing Day game in his memory. Please pass this information on to any member you know of, without access to the Bowls Club Website or Facebook.

His funeral will be on Thursday 9 September 2021 at 11:00 at Wootton Basset crematorium.

We will be thinking of Ann and the family and friends at this time of such a sad loss.

Competitions

It is wonderful to see huge numbers of members signed up for club competitions. However, this does result in a very tight schedule. Please keep checking the boards and website, liaising and arranging as shown. A key to the equipment shed will be placed in the smaller shed so that the competition kit can be accessed.

Communication

In addition to checking the club website and Facebook page regularly, it is now possible to access the clubhouse more frequently. Weekend games continue for many weeks yet, Thursday triples, Friday socials, and evening competition dates will see the bar in use. The sheets are up for friendlies throughout September. You can still sign up for friendlies via Derek if you can’t get your name on a clubhouse list: maryderek@btinternet.com 01666 823482

Note that a buffet tea will be provided after the game on Tuesday 31 September 2021.

Bingo

This will start on Saturday 11 September at 8.00 p.m. Members only.

Emergency Contacts

Many thanks to those members who have completed the form on-line. If you have not managed this yet you will be asked if you need a printed version.

Key Access

New keys may still be obtained from Brian. New members will pay a £6 deposit. Existing members have to return the old key. We aim to have more independent access to the clubhouse soon.

Car Parking

We have had fewer problems recently however please can all members get into the habit of displaying their membership cards on their vehicle dashboards when using the car park.

Tour

Derek will be publicising details of a European bowls tour. Please see the notice board.
