Malmesbury "A" recorded a win on Tuesday in Division 2. They beat Falcon by 10 points to 0, and 77 shots to 43. Despite the win, the "A" team remains 5th in the table http://www.bowlsnews.co.uk/division2.html The gap is widening between the top two and the rest of the table.

Malmesbury "B" remain 5th in their table as well http://www.bowlsnews.co.uk/division3.html Division 3 is much closer with the top 8 teams all within 4 points of each other.

The game on Tuesday was always going to be difficult. Victory Park "B" are a good side who were promoted in 2016 but came down again last year, they would be one of the favourites to bounce straight back again to Division 2. People stepping in and stepping up on all three rinks made Victory Park "B" work hard for every shot and Malmesbury "B" did well to win on two rinks (in one case by just half a shot after a count back*) and kept the overall score close throughout.

* On one rink, only three Victory Park "B" players turned up. In that situation two players use three woods but the rink must lose 25% of their score. After 21 ends Malmesbury "B" were 15 while Victory Park "B" were 18. So 25% of the score equals 4.5 so Malmesbury "B" won by 15 shots to 14.5 (which has to be rounded down to 14).

However, Malmesbury "B" lost on shots overall, 50-54, winning 4 points but losing 6 to Victory Park "B".
