First up, kudos to Pete and his win over Alan, last year's men's champion, in the Senior Shield. It goes to show that you are never too old to improve your game. And Swindon Town did not lose today against Leyton Orient.
A well done to Andy for winning against Paul in a competitive Two Wood match. Alan was the winner against Roger Pope. Good luck to both in their next matches.
Tonight, Tuesday 16th August, in a downpour not quite of biblical proportions, Tim beat David and Andy won against Mark. Despite the application of copious quantities of Grippo, and much use of towels, the woods were too slippy for some of the players. Steve had a good game against Alan but unfortunately, he was not able to win the game. Malc had a concession to move to the next round.
After the matches, tonight, Tuesday, 16th August, the Men's Handicap quarterfinal matches were drawn. The game of the round is Malc v Brad, followed by Andy v Tim, Bryan v Paul and Roger v Alan. We wish everyone good luck in their next match. these games will be played on Tuesday 23rd August at 18:00.
At the weekend, Brian, Tim, and Roy made the long journey to Salisbury to play in the County Over 60s Triple competition, it was not to be their day as they lost 13-14 to the home team.
Gary lost in his County Unbadged Singles last week, so the club's sole representative in the National and County competitions is Alan in the County Unbadged Singles on 3rd September in the semi-finals.
Don't forget the Men's Championship matches on Monday 22nd August.
