Malmesbury traveled to Fairford on Tuesday, 27 July to play the penultimate game of the season. The team was very lucky to avoid the thundery showers whilst playing. Fairford 'B' were very good hosts and the game was played in a convivial atmosphere. All three rinks put in solid performances to win 10-0 overall thereby securing promotion from Division 2 to the top division of the Cotswold League for next year.

On Tim's rink, Andy Brown had a very good game helping the rink win 21-9. Ruby's rink steamed ahead to 21-5 but was pegged back to 21-11 and John's rink had a tight game to win 14-12.

Overall, Malmesbury won 10-0 on points and 56-32 in shots. Malmesbury has 84 points with a shots difference of 151, so promotion is secured. The league table can be viewed here http://www.bowlsnews.co.uk/division2.html. Malmesbury are ahead by 26 points so cannot be caught by any team now.

Next week, Malmesbury play their last league game of the season, away at Nailsworth Mills on 3 August 2021, as the team has a bye for the final round of the league on 10 August 2021
