Tomorrow Never Knows
Malmesbury Bowls and Social Club
Tomorrow Nevers Knows is not the title of the new James Bond film, but a reminder that we never know who will win on the day. The Long And Winding Road through the season has lead us to the Club Championship Finals, hopefully Here Comes The Sun as it is going to be one Helter Skelter of a finals weekend said Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.
Captain Fantastic said I Wanna Be Your Man, I'll Keep You Satisifed, With A Little Help From My Friends and has let us know that he will organize a great weekend after his fantastic Captain's Day and that the Rain will hold off.
Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby was quoted as saying playing bowls at the Malmesbury is a Hard Day's Night, an Eights Days A Week slog on the green. Someone had mentioned the green so Penny Lane responded Something like Hey Jude, When I'm Sixty-Four , I Want To Tell You, that I Don't Want To Spoil The Party as Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me and My Monkey, to avoid a four hour long discourse on the length of the grass.
The Fool On The Hill muttered Do You Want To Know A Secret, I Am The Walrus, after one too many barley wines, mumbling Good Day Sunshine and I'll Be On My Way, as Strawberry Fields Are Forever, which made a change from calling the green a cabbage patch.
It was on the Tip Of My Tongue to come out with a witty retort but all I come up with was Thank You Girl, I Want To Hold Your Hand.
Help ! I Should Have Known Better so I started humming Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da hoping that Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band would strike up in the background, but it had all been a Magical Mystery Tour with Rocky Raccoon, Polythene Pam, Mean Mr Mustard and Sexy Sadie. I woke up and realised that it had been a dream brought on by an overdose of tea and biscuits.
It Won't Be Long before the season will be over and we can either put away our bowls for the winter or continue with the indoor variant of the game. Good luck to the finalists on the 16th and 17th September, unfortunately your website editor will be away for the weekend so someone else will have to take the photographs of the winners. I've Got A Feeling its going to be a great weekend, so Let It Be.
