Description

Mary Hare is a national centre of excellence in deaf education. We believe that all deaf children should receive the education and support which will enable them to achieve their full potential at home, school and in their subsequent careers. Mary Hare School is the largest non-maintained special school in the UK, educating some 240 profoundly and severely deaf children from all over the UK every year. Pupil achievement and pupil fulfilment are at the heart of everything we do. Mary Hare is a registered charity and is supported by the Mary Hare Foundation, which fundraises for the school.

We offer postgraduate courses, conferences and training days to professionals working in deaf education. Mary Hare Hearing Services provide a range of services to adults with hearing problems, as well as supplying the NHS and dispensers with ear moulds and repairing all makes of hearing aid for customers all over Europe. We also run a number of businesses that generate income for our charitable work.

Before coming to this school my hearing loss determined my whole life. Since I have been here, it has been irrelevant.
