MILTON PARK BOWLING ASSOCIATION

MANAGEMENT RULES

 

Membership

The membership of Milton Park Bowling Association shall be all registered members of the following clubs:

  1. a)    Eastney Bowling Club
  2. b)    Milton Park Ladies Bowling Club
  3. c)    Milton Park Bowling Club
  4. d)    Priory Bowling Club

These four clubs are known as the ‘Member Clubs’. When Member Clubs are referred to as ‘rotating in sequence’ the order shall be as listed herein.

Management

The Management Committee shall comprise of the officers and two representatives from each club using Milton Park Bowling facilities who will manage the Association. The club representatives will be the only ones with voting powers at committee meetings. The Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer cannot be their club’s representatives.

The Chair person has the casting vote.

The Management Committee shall be responsible for conducting the business of the association and shall be empowered to elect such sub- committees as they feel necessary.    

A Greens Manager and Pavilion Manager will be non-voting members and cannot be their club’s representatives..

A  Vice Chair will be elected who will serve for a period of one year as Vice Chair and then the following year as Chair. This position will rotate, in sequence, between the member clubs, as previously indicated.

The position of Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer can be nominated and seconded by any members of the Association. In the event of the Honorary Secretary or Honorary Treasurer resigning during the year then the Management Committee has the power to call a committee meeting within twenty one days in order to appoint a temporary Honorary Secretary or Treasurer until the AGM or EGM.

Honorary Secretary

The Honorary Secretary shall conduct all correspondence, keep minutes of the Association meetings plus keep a list of names and telephone numbers of members and send out notification of AGM to individual club secretaries to inform their own members.

Honorary Treasurer

The Honorary Treasurer shall receive all monies due to the Association and shall make all payments. Accounts will be prepared as at 31st October each year. An independent person, deemed as being suitable for that purpose, will be elected at the Annual General Meeting and will audit the accounts annually (Accounts Examiner).

The Association shall maintain bank accounts, for which the signatories shall be Honorary Treasurer and any one of the nominated members from each of the remaining three clubs.

The Association Committee in consultation with the Association Treasurer will set the Association fee and be approved at the Annual General Meeting.

Any surplus income will be re-invested in the Association. No surplus or assets will be distributed to members or third parties.

Suggestions

Any suggestions which are of benefit to the Association must be submitted, in writing, to the Honorary Secretary.

Children and Vulnerable Adults    

We are committed to providing a safe environment in which children and vulnerable adults can enjoy taking part in a game of bowls.

We will seek to underpin this commitment by following and promoting the Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy and Procedures of the National Governing Body – Bowls England.

Children must be accompanied by a parent / relative or legal guardian at all times whilst using the facilities.
