National and County competition updates 9.7.2021

Results

County Mixed Pairs: Gillian Gunn & Brian Poole won a high-scoring match, 30-23 against a Topsham pairing of Greeno & Howland on the 4th of July.

Grater Pairs: Paul Buttle & Brian Poole lost to Mick Powell & Paul Stone of Topsham 17-20 on the 6th July at Topsham.

Ladies unbadged pairs: On the 6th July, Frances Clement & Steph Warren won their first-round match against the Topsham pair of Powell & Northey 25-10. Unfortunately, they lost in the next round to Kirkland & Hunt of Okehampton, 12-21.

Upcoming matches

Burmer Stars Mixed Triples: Marcia Mills, Gillian Gunn & Brian Poole play a North Tawton triple in Round 3 at 2:30 pm on the 11th of July at MBBC.

Mens Top Club: The first round of this competition is on the 12th July at MBBC. The team is made up as follows - Singles: Andy Poole; Two-wood: Brian Poole; Pairs: Phil Thomas & Richard Tapp; Triples: Henry Cruwys, John Battishill & David Eastell; Fours: Rob Warren, Robin Bateman, Den Buckingham & Edwin Hutchings.

Mens Over 60s Singles: Brian Poole is set to play J Keesing of Chagford in his next round (to be played by the 25th July).

County Mixed Pairs: Gillian Gunn & Brian Poole are due to play Helen & Richard Ellis of Crediton in the next round (to be played by the 18th July).

Ladies 2 wood triples: We have two triples entered; Steph Warren v J Pond of Topsham and Mo Sparrow v M Carpenter of Crediton. The arrangements of this competition have changed due to a clash with Major Fours last 16. The first round matches are to be played by the 30th July.

Ladies benevolent triples: Steph Warren, Marcia Mills & Sheila Kirby are playing either a team from Topsham or St Thomas in the Section 4 competition being played on the 2nd and 5th of August at MBBC.
