New Hope

We are New Hope

Today, very few people can be seen sleeping on the streets of Watford but this does not mean that Watford’s homelessness problem is non-existent. If New Hope (formerly Watford New Hope Trust) closed its doors, Watford’s street scene would change dramatically. Up to 60 people sleep in our care every night, most of whom would otherwise sleep on the streets.

New Hope exists to serve homeless and vulnerably-housed people by providing accommodation and opportunities to rebuild damaged lives. Founded upon Christian values, which are at the core of our operation, we support people regardless of faith.

Our many services are categorised under the following three headings:

We provide eight accommodation services with 60 beds. These comprise: an emergency transition service; an emergency night shelter; a ‘damp’ house; a ‘dry’ house; a safe house for vulnerable women; and three move-on hostels.

We provide six support services. These comprise: street outreach; a 24/7 emergency homelessness helpline; a day centre; a mental health worker; a tenancy support service; and a central support team.

We provide two development services. These comprise: a community market garden; and an employment training scheme.

Through these services, we support more than 600 people every year.

In order to keep our services running, we need your support. Please click here to see how you can help New Hope to continue to prevent homelessness in Watford and to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
