Norfolk CC Staff Bowls Club

About Us

Welcome to the Norfolk County Council Staff Bowls Club website.

We hope you will find all you need to know about the Club but if you need any further information please use the ‘Contact Us’ page.

Whilst the Bowls Club is fundamentally a friendly mixed club, we do compete in various local afternoon and evening leagues. We also have a range of club competitions and club 'roll-ups' throughout the season (mid- April to mid-September). A few members also compete in County and National competitions. We therefore cater for many standards of bowling and members can play as much, or as little, as they wish. If any new members feel they need a bit of support or encouragement when they start, we have two accredited bowls coaches in the club.

The Norfolk County Council Bowls Club was founded in 1971 by the Norfolk County Council and NCC Sports & Social Club. Whilst it was primarily started for the current and retired staff, the membership is not restricted to local government staff and other persons would be most welcome to join. Because the Bowls Club is still supported financially by the Sports & Social Club, we are required to maintain a minimum of 60% membership from the Sports & Social Club.
