NHPCSG June 2109 Meeting Report
The main event at our June group meeting was a talk given by Sara Fawcett, our liaison nurse, where she answered and gave advice about how best to deal with, or live with, the many side effects members experience after receiving various types of treatment.
This was very popular with our members as Sara’s talk extended well beyond the normal time slot and she was warmly thanked by the audience.
Alan Instone, our Chairman, had previously advised members that as he and his wife Joan were moving to a new house out of our area, he would not be able to continue as Chairman with all his move preparations, although he will still drop in if he could until he moved.
The Committee had asked Martin Budd, the Deputy Chairman and Treasurer, to take on the role as Chairman with David Jannetta becoming the Treasurer. Members at the meeting unanimously approved these committee appointments and Martin thanked Alan, one of the group’s founder members, for all his hard word and dedication in making the NHPCSG the success it is today.
The new Chairman proposed a change to the Group’s Data Protection Policy to enable us to hold members' telephone numbers and postal addresses. This will enable us to provide better support to our members and their partners. This new information will be opt-in only and members are not obliged to provide these details. This proposal was approved by the members present and the revised Data Protection Policy will be posted on our web site when changes have been made.
There were 40 members present this month, with no new members.
