Nottingham Proprietary Bowls Club
Nottingham Proprietary Bowls Club was founded in 1849 and is situated at 29 Addison Street Nottingham and enjoys a prominent position overlooking the Nottingham Arboretum, the club has a large car park which holds 40+ cars. We are recognised as one of the oldest clubs in the county. Over the years the club has enjoyed good fortune in both league and cup competitions.
The club has its own club room and bar with a separate dining area in an adjoining room. We have our own modern kitchen for catering. We have social nights at the club and during the winter months we meet on the last Friday of the month for a games night with snowball bingo- open the box -carpet bowls and horse race nights. We have separate changing rooms for the Ladies and Gentleman each side of the clubhouse. Members are free to practice on the bowling green during the allocated times listed this is included in your membership.The cost per player on match days home and away is £1.00 per player which goes towards the upkeep of the green.
The club has an opening day this year on the 15th April 2017, Charity Day Open to teams from all clubs, Presidents Day for club members with the morning bowls starting with a round robin event this is then followed by 'The Presidents Singles Trophy' which is a competition that runs through the season.The Club Competitions this year will be organised by Roger Holwell, Ann has sent out entry forms to all club members so please support the Competitions this year.
This years Club President Ann Whitworth's Chosen Charity is for Parkinson's which is yet another worthwhile fundraising cause. Ann will keep you informed of all fundraising events, please give her all of your support.
