Nottingham Proprietary Bowls Club

About Us

Nottingham Proprietary Bowls Club was founded in 1849 and is situated at 29 Addison Street Nottingham and enjoys a prominent position overlooking the Nottingham Arboretum, the club has good facilities for it's bowlers. We are recognised as one of the oldest clubs in the county. Over the years the club has enjoyed good fortune in both league and cup competitions.

The club has its own club room and bar with a separate dining area in an adjoining room. We have our own modern kitchen for catering. We have social nights at the club and during the winter months we meet on the last Saturday of the month for a games night with snowball bingo- open the box -carpet bowls and horse race nights. We have separate changing rooms for the Ladies and Gentleman each side of the clubhouse. Members are free to practice on the bowling green during the allocated listed playing and practice times which is included in your year's membership fee.The cost per player on match days home and away is £1.00 per player which goes towards the upkeep of the green.

The Club's Opening Day this year on the 14th April 2018.

To all players. Please enter this years club competition's. Ann Whitworth our club secretary has sent out entry forms to all club members with your renewal form so please support the Competitions this year. Other clubs have successful club competitions and find that it brings players together as a club. Only one club competition was completed last season which is very poor. Thanks to Roger Holwell who tried last season to revive interest in the competitions

This years Club President is Clive Buxton who will shortly be announcing his chosen Charity for his term as Club President. On behalf of the committee and club members we would like to wish Clive all the best for his year as President.
