Earlier in the year Oakley Bowling Club submitted an application for grant aid funding through the One Stop Shop Carriers for Causes Scheme, administered by Groundworks, to help replace some of our old worn out equipment. We were fortunate to receive a grant of £500 that enabled us to purchase a new lightweight GTECH electric rechargeable mower to cut the grass on the green surrounds. Members of the green team have regularly been seen using this over the summer keeping the surrounds in immaculate condition. This mower is both lighter, and in not needing a power cable, is much easier to use than the old worn out equipment and with no risk of slicing across a power cable, so safer as well.

Obtaining grants, along with our own fundraising, is a key way in keeping our club well maintained without adding extra to the membership fees ,and reciprocal support for those organizations that help us, like our local One Stop Shop, is much appreciated
