Tonight saw both Oakley teams playing their second games in this year's Cusheon Trophy and, as last week, the teams had contrasting results. Oakley "A" showing 2 changes from last week began slowly and although they led Basingstoke Barbarians 4-3 at 5 ends they were trailing 5-7 by 10 ends. There was still only 1 shot in the game at 15 ends but over the last 6 ends the Oakley team of Nicole Rogers, Ric Newson, Bob Goodyear and Ashley Nethercliffe picked up 10 shots to win 21-12 and record their second successive victory. The "B" team, showing three changes from last week, had an evening to forget. Basingstoke Cheetahs roared out of the block against Martin Smith, Dominic Flannigan, John Yarrall and Claire Flannigan and by 10 ends Oakley were down 1-21 . Try as they did, a recovery never really looked likely and Oakley went down to a 5-35 defeat.
