Janie Vickers, this evening, came so close to qualifying again to represent Hampshire in the National Bowls Championships at Leamington Spa. After a poor start in her County quarter final at Banister Park, Janie looked to have the match sown up as she led by 5 shots with just 3 ends to play. A purple patch from her opponent then took the game to an extra end where Janie held her nerve to progress to the semi-final. Sadly the semi against Banister Park's Charlie Crook did not go Janie's way but she and the club should be proud of her achievememts. There was disappointment too for Town's Anita Christian and Adam White as they too bowed out of the competition, both losing at the quarter final stage.
