Sadly Captain Sue Dixon missed out at Hook this morning when she played M Fielder of Farnborough Gate in the quarter final of the County Women's Unbadged Singles.  It was clear from the outset that her opponent, who had moved over from Surrey, would be a handful as she nailed the jack with a front toucher on the first two ends and soon Sue was trailling 0-9.  A single on the 7th end opened Sue's account and by 12 ends she had clawed her way back to 8-10.  That, however, was  the closest it was to be.  Sue trailed 12-18 at 18 ends and her opponent then scored three successive singles to move into the semi final to be played at Banister Park in August.
