Fixture News 2026

Welcome to the 2026 edition of Fixture News

Overview

Please read this in conjunction with the President’s and Captains’ introduction letters for the new season, which were circulated with 2026 Membership Subscription forms.

Details on fixtures are available online and copies of the printed fixture book will be available from the clubhouse.

It was challenging at times last season to field full teams for some friendlies. With this in mind, the captains reviewed the entire fixtures programme and removed a number of games. More details on this were provided at the AGM. You will see we still have a very full programme of friendly fixtures.

We will continue to participate in the North West Kent competitions and have entered two Men’s teams and one Ladies’ team. Ladies will again be participating in the Jubilee League, Gladys Tyler and Mollie Cleggett competitions. Men will play in the LX, Fred Tyler and Ron Ault competitions. We will again participate in the Orpington Town Cup against Orpington Excelsior Bowling Club.

I am delighted to confirm we have introduced a new Ladies’ Day on Saturday 8th August, in which participants will compete for the Mo Jordan Cup. See the flyer issued with 2026 Membership Subscription forms for more details on this day.

Four away day fixtures have been arranged for this coming season and are covered in more detail later in this update.

The Club have submitted entries to all of the various BBDBA competitions. The association is currently reviewing their activities; if the competitions continue, more details will be provided on how to participate in these.

We have removed the indoor matches at BIBC for 2026/2027 but will continue with the Angel IBC fixture in November. Our participation in the Bromley Outdoor Indoor League (BOIL) is to be confirmed.

In conclusion we have a large programme of fixtures and lots of opportunities to play, irrespective of your level of experience. Please make every effort to support your club and put your name down for the various games.

Thank you. Enjoy the season.

Richard Stone, Fixtures Secretary OBC
