A healthier living is definitely the winner for local children at Overton Youth Football Club. They have been able to improve their offer consistently showing growth in all age groups from Under 7s through to Under 15s. Andy Cox Club Manager said: “We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with the FA regional award for Best Club in the Area.”

Overton Recreation Centre has been managing its’ own facilities since England last won the World Cup in 1966! And recently Kevin Ratcliffe, Groundsman, won an award for providing the best football pitches in Hampshire. Kevin said “It’s a great honour – I manage 30 acres of green space in this beautiful countryside & what we offer for sport is unique in my opinion”

Overton Recreation Centre is celebrating its’ 50th Anniversary with a series of healthy living events. Starting on Sunday 8th May a showcase of sports and activities will occur at the Bridge Street Sports Ground. There will be a fun run on Saturday 21st May at The Ken Hogan Berrydown Sports Centre and a picnic event on Sunday 5th June at the Town Meadow Golf Club. All events are free.
