Covid-19 – Support
Council support for struggling families
Hart District Council has pledged to continue to support families struggling in Hart as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Practical help and advice is available through the Hampshire Coronavirus and Support Line on 0333 370 4000 and residents can also apply to our hardship fund via hardship@hart.gov.uk for financial assistance for those in a crisis or an emergency situation.
We also work very closely with Hart foodbank and we have our own Hart Coronavirus Food Hub, offering food parcels to those who need help.
Councillor David Neighbour, Leader of Hart District Council, said: “We have been astonished at the community response in Hart since the March lockdown and we have seen this again this weekend, with the specific offers of food for children over half term. We are fortunate to live in an area where the community continues to step up.
“The Council, Hart Voluntary Action and other charitable organisations are working together to ensure no one goes hungry.”
Alongside our own support for residents, we have also helped local community groups. We have paid out £6,250 to support 13 organisations providing emergency response during lockdown and a further £4,800 has been awarded to 18 groups to safely restart face-to-face activity.
