AGM 2013 - 40th Anniversary
Friday, October 4, 2013 was the date of our Annual General Meeting and was also the date we chose to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Portsmouth Area Talking News.
The AGM kicked off with the usual formalities and continued through to the election of the new committee. It was at this meeting that the Chairman, June Munday was stepping down and until a few days beforehand we did not have anyone to take over from her, but at the last moment, Janet Crabtree was persuaded to take on the task, to everyone’s relief. I know that she will do very well and get any help from the rest of the team.
Once all the formalities of the AGM had finished and a short talk by Julie Duffy had taken place, we were almost ready for the anniversary celebrations, we were only waiting for the arrival of the Lord Mayor, Councillor Lynne Stagg and the Portsmouth North MP, Penny Mordaunt. They arrived at different times and were shown around the studio by Trevor Muston and June Munday.
The Lord Mayor having cut the cake proposed a toast to the success of the past 40 years and wished us further success for the next 40 years and beyond.
