Finals Saturday saw the early rounds of the annual P& D Champion of Champions competition at Pembroke Park , this years Priory singles champion Steve Smith took on Cowplain's Martin Babbage and won 21-17 even though he was 18-7 up he kept stopping him winning 3 times with his last wood. Next up he then played Martin Ellis and just won 23-2.

The next round took place on Sunday 3rd at 10am where he took on Leigh Park's Jamie Ward.

It was a very hot morning on the seafront, a tight game with Steve Smith 9-11 down after 12 ends, he then picked up the 2 to get things all square and kicked on from there. At 20 -13 up and holding game shot, Jamie managed to no end it but this only held of the inevitable with the Priory champion picking up the winning shot on the next end.

The final, was marked by Bob Bloomfield is against the young Rowner Champion, Bradley Godden who had beaten Ian Homeyard of Gosport BC in the other semi final.

Steve Smith went into a healthy 11-5 lead and then the heat must've got to him as he went to sleep and lost the next portion of the game 4-11 to Bradley. Then he must've woken up as at 15-18 down he pulled a maximum out of the bag which must've broken the Rowner youngster as he never scored another shot and Steve Smith came over the line winning 21-18
