RCMA Farmers' Markets
Here are just two of the dedicated local food producers you will meet on a trip to one of our farmers' markets. We will feature two new producers every month.
Carn Edward Lamb and Longhorn Beef
The Carn Edward farms are typical traditional hill family ran farms, breeding Longhorn cattle and Lleyn Welsh sheep to supply customers with beef and lamb. High on the hills of the Gwaun Valley, the farm is approximately 500 acres and runs from the valley bottom to the hill top, providing a variety of diverse habitats. Ten years ago the family decided to specialise in rearing a breed of cow which suited the hill environment in the shadow of Carn Ingli. The Longhorns were our chosen breed because they suited out environment needs, helping to maintain diverse habitats which are rich in a variety of flora and fauna.
Carn Edwards are a family business with everyone taking on a busy role though it is Robert you are likely to find at weekly farmers markets with a fridge stocked full of lamb and beef. “Good old fashioned beef at modest prices,” quotes Robert, who along with his family provide a quality product direct to the consumer and kitchen table at realistic prices!
