Redcar Borough Park Bowling Club
About the Bowls Club
Situated next to the Redcar Race Course main car park off Redcar lane, Borough Park is a flat green bowls club formed in 1926 with two outdoor bowling greens and a four rink indoor bowls hall. It also has a licensed bar and a large car park. It is affiliated to Bowls England and the E.I.B.A. Limited and as such abides by their rules. Playing bowls is an excellent way of keeping fit and making new friends. The outdoor season starts early April and ends in early September. The club enters teams in the Tees-side Ladies & Vets, North Yorkshire, Cleveland and Langbaurgh leagues. The indoor bowling leagues start in September and run for 30 weeks with a break over the Christmas period. Our mixed, ladies and men's social sessions are very popular and the dress code for these is 'smart casual'. New members are always welcome but beware - bowls is very addictive! Social events include a quiz night on Wednesdays, Bingo on Friday and Sunday evenings and the Cutty Wren Folk Club meet here on Tuesday evenings.
