Last night saw the final quiz night of the Winter Social Programme being well supported by club members, their family and friends with 12 teams competing in cerebal battle. Winners at the end of the evening were The Polyglots comprising John and Majorie Whinney, with Vic and Brenda Day.

This team has won the last 3 times they have played together and the only thing denying them a hat trick of victories was the fact that John was the quiz master at the previous quiz night! The Polyglots seem to be the quizzing Barcelona of Roundwood BC and could John be the Lionel Messi as an unnamed source within the team described him as "having a brain like a sponge" which, we presume, was a compliment!

Many thanks to all that turned out to support the event which, in turn, helps with the running of our bowls club. We would also like to extend our thanks to Tony and Ruth Martin for presenting the quiz and preparing sets of questions which, while some made you scratch your head, were pitched at just the right level of difficulty to make it an entertaining evening. Grateful thanks also to the organisers, and to Mick Bassett for manning the bar.

Watch out for news of the final event of the Social Programme, which will be the whist drive
