After weeks of preparation, Opening Day finally arrived last Saturday with plenty of sunshine and a good turn out of club members to celebrate the start of the 2018 season.

After a welcome and casting the first wood by our President, Bill Quinton, the afternoon got off to a fun start with whiskey spider which was won by Club Sectetary Dave Long. The prize on offer for the rest of the afternoon was the Warn Cup. Senior club members were appointed as Skips for teams of Fours, with the remainder of the members being allocated by drawing lots.

At the end of a good afternoons bowling there were two teams on maximum points and the winners, by points difference on +15 points were Eric Riches, John Adams, Maureen Cann and Trevor Payne. Runners up on +9 points were David Mote, Steve Driver, Dave Cook and Dave Dowman.

Many thanks to all who participated, all those who bought food along and all those involved in the organisation - a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all!
