Saltburn Bowls Club
In addition to the scheduled league games there will be some friendlies, some internal competitions and an open competition. In all cases nominations forms or entry forms will be posted on the club notice boards for those interested.
The weekend of 29th and 30th of April is for the Saltburn Bowls Club open pairs competition where members of any club can enter, for a fee, and a knockout competition is the format for the weekend. This years competition was won by
During the course of the season the following annual club competitions will take place with finals on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd September
Veterans Cup (over 70 only)
In addition to the annual club competitions there are the following tournaments open to social members
10th June is the date for the Billy Kerr trophy, this is open to members of Saltburn Bowls club only, it is free to enter, the format is a two wood singles, ties will be drawn from the list of competing players and played as a knockout tournament. Finals will be held during the club championships weekend.
8th July 2017 was the date for the Steve Duck Trophy, this was open to members of Saltburn Bowls club only, it is free to enter for both full and social members, teams will be drawn from the list of competing players and played as a round robin tournament usually as a triples format. This years winner was Graham Russell teamed with Chris Fawcett and Pip Chinn who narrowly defeated June Robinson teamed with Ron Elliott and Gordon Middlemiss, with a final score of 8 points to 7.
6th August 2017 is Yorkshire patrons day when two North Yorkshire EBA teams will entertain the members of Yorkshire patrons
27th August 2017 is our day for the Mike Hadlett trophy and is another knockout competition followed by a BBQ, this will be open to full and social members. There is a fee to enter as food is included. This is now on Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend to avoid league fixtures planned for August Bank Holiday Monday.
As well as the competitions listed above we have friendly fixtures planned which will be open to all members
7th May 2017 We have been invited to Alnwick with a planned start time of 2:00 pm, coach travel will be arranged
1st July 2017 We will be hosting Mulgrave with a planned start time of 2:30 pm
22nd July 2017 We will be hosting Castleton with a planned start time of 2:30 pm
26th August 2017 We will be hosting Hutton Rudby with a planned 2:30 pm start
