Open the Book

Open the Book is a Bible Society project that has been running with volunteers from the Kendal area for 6 years now.  Teams visit 2 of our Beacon Mission Community Church schools, Selside and St Oswald’s at Burneside, bringing alive stories from the Old and New Testaments, using drama, story-telling, music and prayer.  All costumes, props and scripts are provided. Each session involves around 20 mins with the children and 30 mins preparation time.  Children and teachers really appreciate and enjoy our visits and we feel blessed to have this joyful opportunity.

More volunteers are invited, to strengthen and extend the project locally
