Editorial Terms

We are very aware of the Ofcom requirement to provide adequate protection for members of the public from potentially harmful material which applies to all programmes, regardless of their timing, audience size, genre, or the inclusion of commercial references which might give rise to an impression of personal gain.[1]

We will repeatedly, during the show reference the source of information on Covid19 to be only these:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response

This information to be provided before or after advert breaks, programme idents and at the beginning and end of the show advising the audience to follow the recommendations on these two sources.

The content will specifically not be directly targeting people who are self-isolating, or in ill health (whether caused by Covid-19 or not) Noted from the Ofcom Report: re Level of isolation – Those on their own were felt to be more impressionable, as they would not have anyone to discuss the content they had heard with.

We will not be recommending any alternative treatments & cures of any kind. We will not be validating any opinions that are expressed by contributors that are at variance with the latest advice from the NHS or the Government. All contributors will be advised that any content that directly contradicts this advice may result in that contributor’s participation in the show being summarily halted.

Any content pre-recorded will have the date of the recording embedded.

All contributors will be advised that any content they express that has the inclusion of commercial references which might give rise to an impression of personal gain may result in that contributor’s participation in the show being summarily halted.

In most cases contributors will give their consent by simply agreeing to be recorded for the show or by contributing online.
