The War Memorial
The Shilbottle War Memorial was erected in August 2014 to coincide with the Centenary of the commencement of World War 1. This followed many months of intense fundraising and village collaboration. The Parish Council and Shilbottle Village Forum took the lead on this project with the latter taking responsibility for fundraising and organisation of events on the day.
In addition to village organisations, we were joined at our fortnightly meetings by representatives from the RAF, Police, Royal British Legion, The Duke of Northumberland, the Navy Cadets, the Church and Northumberland County Council.
