Shire Park Bowls Club is a mixed membership bowls club and membership for the season is now open.

We have about 40 matches each season, with weekends and mid-weeks fixtures ranging from singles, doubles and three mixed triples up to six full rinks.

We also play competitive league matches at a local & County level.

Our green has six rinks and we have our own club house, with a full bar run by the members.

We are also a very sociable club with many events run throughout the year. These include: quizzes, carpet bowls, table tennis and Friday evening informal bowls practise (during the season) that often concludes in the bar.

If you are interested in joining please e-mail our Membership Secretary Christine Wright on bonsai19@hotmail.co.uk and she will get back to you.

All levels of bowlers, from novices to experienced players are welcome. Subscriptions for 2025 are £140 per person and new members receive a 50% reduction in their first year.

Martin Taylor is Shire Park’s Bowls Development Lead

Shire Park has decided to invest in the recruitment and development of new and established members by appointing Martin Taylor in this new role. Martin, who is a friendly and affable person, will be 'looking after' new members and assisting their progress in developing new skills if they so wish.  He will be actively involved in integrating new members into the club while also fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that will benefit established members too.

He will organise sessions for new members and inexperienced bowlers to help them settle in. If required practice sessions for experienced competition players can be arranged.

We are extremely pleased that such a genuine person as Martin has agreed to get involved in this essential area.
