Sewerage

There is a sewerage works near to the Burial Ground off Water Lane.

While most properties are on mains drainage, those outside of the village centre have septic tanks. Please be aware that in future septic tanks will no longer be allowed to discharge directly to a surface water such as a river or a stream.  If you have a septic tank that discharges directly to a surface water you will need to replace or upgrade your treatment system by 1 January 2020, or when you sell your property if before this date. You can either install a drainage field (also known as an infiltration system) so the septic tank can discharge to ground or replace your septic tank with a small sewage treatment plant.  More information can be found on these websites:
