The South Cliff Socialites (SCS) team faced Flamborough in a re-arranged fixture. SCS needed to take one rink and thus gain the required 2 points which would see them crowned League champions. The matches were very keenly fought and after almost half the scheduled ends it was very close on two rinks with SCS tied on one rink, ahead by 1 on a second rink and behind 1-13 on the third. With two ends to play SCS held a slender lead on one rink, had a league winning lead on the second and had reduced the deficit on the third rink.

The match ended with South Cliff S ahead on two rinks - 17-11, 18-11 and beaten 13-23 on the third rink. The outcome gave the team a victory by 4 points to 2, more than enough to be crowned league champions - by 4 points.

Well done to all those who played for the SCS team and many thanks to Mary and Derek for organising the weekly competitive practices. Many of the team were relatively new to bowling having joined the club within the last five years.
