No league bowling since the end of the 2019 season! Members were anticipating getting back to inter-club bowling on May 26th The Open League were the first in action playing Filey. All ended square with Filey taking the rink victories by 2-1 but South Cliff winning the aggregate 52-50. So 4 points apiece. The team then faced Cayton at South Cliff and were in fine form winning all three rinks and obviously the aggregate score - 73-34 yielding a maximum 8 points. The rink of the evening saw Paul H, John S and Paul B in excellent form running out winners by 31 to 5.

The two Aussie Pairs teams - South Cliff and South Cliff S faced each other in the first league match. It was a closely fought contest culminating in a victory by 2-1 to South Cliff. Although the aggregate score is not taken into consideration South Cliff scored 49 against 33. The quality of the bowling was excellent and members had clearly benefited from the earlier triples, singles club leagues and the twice weekly Aussie Pairs sessions. The performance of the day was from rink 4 where Pam & Patrick overturned a deficit to claw their way back to win 15-11 after the 16 ends.

The Independent League start their season at Burniston & Cloughton on Friday and the remaining team have to wait until Tuesday to play in the Vets League against Burniston.
