On a sunny but nippy afternoon, 18 members enjoyed their first outing on a green, which is in excellent condition. Following the new Covid-19 Regs members were randomly allocated to a team of three to play a Jumble. On three alternate rinks they played seven ends of triples with each player keeping the score of the points gained. At the end of the seven ends, a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the Duke of Edinburgh was held. A second random allocation of players to teams took place for a further seven ends. In the final analysis, Bob was the highest points scorer for the men and Joyce for the ladies. Joyce scored the highest number of points of any of the players.

All the players enjoyed the event and are looking forward to the Club leagues which start, with the Triples tomorrow, followed by Aussie Pairs and Singles. In addition team practices will take place for the Vets and Independent League with players anticipating the start of inter-club fixtures from the end of May. Play is possible every day of the week with booking systems in place.
