Yorkshire Day - Come and Try Bowls etc
South Cliff Bowling Club Scarborough
The club held a successful Yorkshire Day event which gave members of the local community an opportunity to try bowling under the guidance of our coaches - Pauline and Jan and with help and support from other members of the club. We estimate about 35 local residents attended and a number indicated that they would like to join. All were complimentary about the club and the welcome they received and a number of questionnaires re the clubhouse were completed. The event raised about £160, after expenses, for club funds. There was a Tombola, book, plants and jigsaw sale and light refreshments were served. The afternoon session saw a continuation of the coaching and bowling golf and bowling cricket.
Many thanks to all those that made cakes, worked in the kitchen, helped people trying out the game, talked to residents who were interested in what we were doing at the club, took part in the activities, ran stalls etc. Your help was much appreciated.
The next event at the club is hosting the cup finals for the Open League. This takes place on Wednesday night with the matches starting at 6pm. Captain, Derek will be presented with the league shield during the evening. Previous posts track the performances of the League winning team.
