Langton Road pavements - how to report overgrown hedgerows

We have received several enquiries about the hedgerows along the Langton Road from the 20mph Speldhurst village gateway, heading past Went Farm towards Langton Green. These are terribly overgrown, and Kent Highways used to cut everything back once a year but reduced their maintenance budget a couple of years ago. Last year our Groundsman managed to do it by himself as a goodwill gesture but the job is just too much for one person. We’re now advised that residents should report overgrown hedges on the KCC portal:

https://www.kent.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/report-a-problem

It’s likely that KCC will then get in touch with the landowner about it. We have reported the problem ourselves but would advise that you and all your neighbours do the same. It's important that you use the portal to report any fault because staff and resources are allocated to assess the problem on that basis. In the meantime we are also trying to track down the landowner and hopefully, between all of us, the job will get done before long!
