At last we have a date to open the green, Saturday July 4th 2020. We have decided that due to the present restrictions, just the Management Committee will meet in the afternoon on July 4th 2020 to open up the green. We will check we have everything in place to make it safe for you all. Bookings can then commence on Sunday July 5th 2020.

We have been asked by Bowls England and the Council to have a booking system. Andrew has kindly agreed to oversee this. It was suggested we and will be putting a two weeks of booking sheets on a board, outside the Clubhouse. If you aren’t able to visit the green, you can ask someone to do it for you. There will be set times, and a short time between to allow for cleaning of equipment. Up to twelve names can be added at a time. Every other rink to be used. The rink numbers will be on the booking sheet.(Even one day, odd the next.) The green playing colour is on the board. We will try this and see how it goes.

You should all have a Club Risk Assessment and Covid 19 Playing Instructions. If you haven’t got a copy, there will be some spare ones in the clubhouse. Please read up on the rules for protecting yourself and others. (They may alter slightly with changes in the Government and Bowls England guidelines.)

Although we now have permission to go in the clubhouse to use the toilet facilities, the ECC still strongly recommend that only one or two people are inside the clubhouse at any one time to limit the risk. They also suggest that the current plans we have in place to limit the numbers of members in attendance continue for the time being.

We will have a spare supply of hand sanitizer, but please try to remember to bring your own. There will be antiseptic wipes to clean equipment, door handles, padlocks etc. Paper towel dispensers have been fitted in the toilets to enable us to wash hands regularly.

Use of the kitchen and equipment room will unfortunately be out of bounds at the moment. Please bring your own snacks and drinks if required. Mats, jacks and rink markers will be in a box just inside the Clubhouse, with wipes to clean after use. It is suggested at the moment, one person on the rink handles the mat and jack.

It has been unanimously agreed by club members, that playing members pay £40.00 for the remainder of the season. Hopefully this will cover the cost the Council is charging us. Payment can be made by preferably by cheque to Brian Sprague either by post or in his letter box.

For this season 2020 we will have playing members, non-playing members and life members. (Non-playing members are payed up members from last year 2019)

We look forward to seeing you all at some stage during the Season!

Thank you. STAY SAFE!
