Are you struggling with mental health? don't know where you can go for some instant help and support?

Medway Safe Haven is a great mental health service that I have been recommending for people in need since it opened about two and a half years ago. A lot of people are not aware of this service so I thought it would be a good idea to share some information about what they do.

The service was running out of Woodlands road in Gillingham but has recently moved to Medway Maritime Hospital.

  • This is a walk-in service - there's no need to be referred by your GP.
  • At The Haven, they will be able to provide information and emotional support if you are in crisis or feel you are heading towards a crisis situation
  • You can come just for a chat, or you can access one-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals.
  • They work closely with GPs, Community Mental Health Teams, Crisis Teams, A&E Mental Health Liaison Teams, Police and Ambulance Services, Street Triage, and other front-line healthcare professionals to ensure that people in emotional distress have a safe, supportive place to go to, with appropriate mental health support available
