Unpleasant issue but a fact of life.

Burial Ground & Churchyard

If you are walking through the burial ground & churchyard with your dog, please keep it on a lead and bag up any mess. There are several bins to put it in. Dog mess amongst the graves is very unpleasant for those tending graves and for the contractor strimming the grass.

The Orchard.

Someone using this area to walk their dog has actually bagged up the mess but then thrown it over the fence into St John's Jerusalem. Recently 104 bags were found during a clear up. There are 3 bins within 100m of this site, please use them.

Parking space is at a premium throughout the village and most of the roads are free from parking restrictions. However if you park on the  roadside, please ensure you do not block the pavement. There have been recent cases whereby the whole pavement has been blocked. There are blind and partially sighted residents, those using wheelchairs or scooters and many pushchair owners who are having to walk out into the busy traffic to get by. Please think of others when you park and don't be the cause of some tragic accident.

KCC are in the midst of replacing their streetlights with LED units. These are most cost effective but may the some getting used to as the light produced is quite different.

Two more sessions to go. 23rd August at Parsonage Lane pavilion and recreation ground 10am-12pm and 30th August at Hawley Pavilion/King George's Field, same time.

This has been arranged at the library, Main Road. 25th August 10am-4pm. Local organisations, clubs and associations will be there showing what goes on in the villages and what services are available.
