The club allows the wearing of tailored shorts.

Swindon West End Bowls Club was formed in 1926 as a Men Only club by some of the men from the Swindon Rail Works.

Since that time the club has moved from a small hut for a club house to the modern club house with a Skittle Alley, Pool Table, Dart Board and the very well stocked bar we have today.

The club house is available to hire for Skittles, Pool, Darts, Birthday parties and other private functions or celebrations.

West End is a mixed club, with the men playing in the Wilts, Swindon and District and Afternoon Triples Leagues, whilst the Ladies play in the Swindon and District evening league.

We play in mixed friendlies at weekends against clubs from Swindon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire as well as against touring teams.

As a club West End has a well-earned reputation of being a very friendly club with members who love to play bowls and enjoy themselves at the same time.

During the winter we have a very competitive club skittles league on a Thursday evening. On Friday and Saturday nights we host several skittles teams from the Swindon Leagues.

We also have club Killer Skittles nights followed by Play Your Cards Right which always prove to be fun nights.

Also, in the winter once a month we have Sunday lunches cooked in our renovated kitchen by our ladies.

If you want to try bowls come along you will receive a warm welcome and all the help and coaching you need to get you playing on the Green.

Not sure if bowls is for you, come and watch a game on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, depending on fixtures, have a drink in the Bar. All are welcome. You do not have to be a bowler to join our club.

Membership and Seasonal fees can be paid as one-off payments or by instalments.
